Recordings of Thomas Burt, African American country blues guitarist, of Durham, Durham County, N.C., playing country blues and ragtime on the guitar, both songs and instrumentals. Also included are recordings of James ("Shout") Smith, African American hambone player, and Irving ("Paca") Harris, African American spoons player, both of Durham, N.C., playing hambone rhythms and spoons, respectively. Smith and Harris also tell jokes and rhymes.
